Abstract

This chapter establishes a successful link between two concepts that in the business world have always been of intellectual fascination and that, seeing them hand in hand generating outstanding results when they are combined in practice, will be much more attractive. These are leadership and competitiveness. This relationship has a clear intention that all readers, businessmen, managers, academics, both in the public and private sectors, find a document appropriate that allows them to apply a well-intentioned formula to guide companies with global purposes, capable of transcending towards new models, conducting business with renewed sense, in accordance with the demands of the new paradigms that bring the inter-global winds. For this, in the first instance, each of these concepts will be treated individually, seeking to find for each one of them, the essence, the variants, the impacts, and the consequences of the business application.

Introduction

For this, in the first instance, each of these concepts will be treated individually, seeking to find for each one of them, the essence, the variants, the impacts and the consequences of the business application. Subsequently, understanding both leadership and competitiveness separately, in addition, another adjacent concept will be proposed, the objectives of sustainable development so that the potential of their relationship as a whole can be observed.

Finally, the meeting point between Leadership and Competitiveness is established, establishing the winning relationship that SME leaders can apply in their companies, so that they can achieve a strong and sustainable position in a market that transits towards a model of sustainable development and additionally, aims at the fulfillment of the objectives of sustainable development also known as global superior purposes.
