What Our Staff Are Saying:

"I enjoy the fact that each day is something new and no two days are exactly alike. I've learned ample information about indexing and abstracting, the peer review process, marketing a journal, and the academic publishing industry as a whole. There is much more to academic publishing than I could have ever imagined before I started at IGI Global."

- Colby Conway, Managing Editor of Journal Development

"I've learned a lot about general skills, such as structuring email communications and prioritization, but I also have gained an understanding in more specific areas, such as academic research and language."

- Emily Mistishen, Editorial Assistant in Marketing

"I get to interact with really great people and have fun conversations that are completely unexpected, and I always appreciate that. I like that every day is just different enough for me that it's not monotonous. Our authors and editors work really hard and having their work published is often very important for their careers, so I like that I get to play some part in helping, no matter how small of a part it may be."

- Nicole Elliott, Customer Service Manager

“I love the combination of working both independently and as a cog in the larger team. I love the constant intake of new knowledge I am exposed to. Mostly I love the very vibrant, active atmosphere that has led to growth and constant change within the company. Because of the tight deadlines and the minimum of bureaucracy, we can put new processes and changes into place quickly, so you see results soon. Conversely, if we see something not working, it is fixed, changed, or dropped before too much time is invested in it.”

– Jan Travers, Director of Intellectual Property & Contracts

“I don’t think there’s just one single thing that I can point to as the most rewarding part of my job because there are so many. I get so much satisfaction from knowing that my ideas and opinions are taken seriously by upper management. I love when our clients recognize me in their acknowledgments, e-mail me to tell me that they’re pleased with their book, or to tell me that they enjoyed working with me. I am always filled with a sense of accomplishment.”

– Jordan Tepper, Assistant Development Editor – Books
