Introduction

This scholarly book focuses on rethinking and reimagining research in higher education. This peer reviewed scholarly book envisions to place research at the centre of the academic discourse. This is not a text book. Central to this book, is the centralization or location of the research discourse using the africanisation concept as the point of departure. A simple google scholar survey, shows that this would be the first book of this kind, continentally and in the world. This book is a must for the emerging academics and the post graduate students. My observation at the university where I am working is that, academics struggle to publish, it is hoped that this book will assist them in publishing and making sound research decisions. Also, this book, hopes to assist the developing academics in research supervision. For the post graduate students, it is hoped, will enable them to write sound research proposals and produce quality dissertations.

Objective

This scholarly book will show us the inner workings of multiple perspectives and let us know there is more than one way to view the world. A scholarly book builds connections and broaden our capacity to empathize; they help us to understand others. Furthermore, this book will bring new insights and will contribute significantly to knowledge production. This scholarly book will play a quintessential role in every academics’ life by introducing them to a world of imagination, providing knowledge of the outside world, improving their reading and writing as well as boosting memory and intelligence. This book, promises to be an excellent piece of research work.

Target Audience

The target audience of this book will be composed of academics, post-graduate students and researchers working in the field of higher education. Moreover, the book will provide insights and support for those academics involved in research supervision.
