Technology Innovation Spotlight: EUROPE

Europe is the birthplace of Western Civilization, establishing the basis of modern innovation in democracy, philosophy, history, drama, verse, medicine and science. Europeans have also developed revolutionary inventions including the telephone, power transformer, space suit, submarine, aerosol can, heart rate monitor, and much more.

Though Europe is the world's second smallest continent, it is comprised of 51 independent countries, leading the world in digital industries such as automotive electronics, security and energy markets, telecom equipment, business software, and laser and sensor technologies. With a population of approximately 740 million, its number of universities is estimated around 4,000. Current areas of trending research include the fields of Economics, Digital Media, and Environmental Development.

With nearly 40,000 affiliates spanning the country, our European authors and editors advance and support the quality academic content that IGI Global has become known for. As a leader in innovation, IGI Global also works closely with many consortia worldwide and throughout Europe. A recent partnership between University of Zagreb and the CALC consortia has brought IGI Global e-resources to Croatia whereas the ANKOS consortia partnership has allowed research to disseminate throughout Turkey. United Kingdom and Northern Ireland are proud to partner with IGI Global through Eduserv, offering e-books, e-journals, and streaming videos. For the fourth year, German universities have gained access to IGI Global’s research through the ZBW consortia, offering cutting-edge journals and books.
