Online Symposium on Social Responsibility in the Information Age hosted by Arvind Ashta

IGI Global will be hosting a symposium entitled "Social Responsibly in the Information Age" with Arvind Ashta. This symposium will explore how the dynamic age of inter-systems connectivity has changed relationships and paradigms. Recent technological changes allow cloud computing and, within it, "software-as-a-service" (SaaS) to experience a steep reduction in costs. With the reduction of costs to operate, there is a social responsibility to reach out and maintain service to more institutions. Using microfinance as an example, this symposium will discuss how the shift in "software-as-a-service" changes microfinance institutions and how there is a social responsibility among the entire network to set pricing and sourcing policies to support the long tail of microfinance institutions that serve the poor.
