IGI Global exhibited at the 2018 ALA Midwinter Meetings and Exhibits in Denver, Colorado on Feb. 9-13, 2018. During the conference, the IGI Global booth (#2122) garnered a lot of attention as the international academic publisher unveiled new pricing for its award-winning InfoSci-Journals and a new Library Account Program that aids librarians in acquiring quality, pioneering content at budget-friendly prices.

For an annual subscription price, as low as $4,950 for new customers, IGI Global’s InfoSci® -Journals, a collection of over 175+ scholarly journals containing 22,000+ articles with over one million citations, stole the spotlight as many librarians were interested in the database's features including free COUNTER 4 and MARC records, unlimited simultaneous users, no embargo of content, full journal issue download, and a full-text search engine.

With no platform or maintenance fees and a guarantee of no more than a 5 percent annual price increase, the InfoSci® -Journals database was noted as an invaluable resource for every academic institution.

Additionally, during the conference, IGI Global unveiled their new Library Account Program. This program allowed librarians to sign-up for a free account with IGI Global and receive a 25 percent discount on titles and databases with exclusive benefits including:

    • Receiving a 25% discount on all purchases made directly through IGI Global (offer includes IGI Global’s award-winning InfoSci®-Databases)
    • Having flexible payment options including invoicing and credit card billing
    • Enjoying one-click shopping for fast and convenient purchases
    • Gaining instant institution-wide access to electronic titles through the InfoSci® platform
    • Accessing the latest research up to a month before its official release date
    • Receiving recommendations based on purchasing habits and research interests
    • Being able to download full titles or purchasing on the chapter/article level

“Each and every time that I have the opportunity to talk to individuals working in the library community, I am so fascinated by every aspect of their own personal research and teaching activities, collection development strategies, and purchasing models. ALA Midwinter is a wonderful opportunity for publishers and librarians to come together to talk about current trends and new product areas, as well as ongoing challenges and ways to foster productive collaborations in the future,” says Lindsay Wertman, Managing Director at IGI Global.

Additionally, many librarians were interested in the best-selling publications Examining the Emotional Dimensions of Academic Librarianship: Emerging Research and Opportunities, edited by Professors Megan Lowe, University of Louisiana – Monroe, USA and Lindsey M. Reno, University of New Orleans, USA, which examines the latest crises and challenges that librarians face including burnout, emotional exhaustion, research agendas, and technical services. Another top-trending publication Arab Women and Their Evolving Roles in the Global Business Landscape. edited by Doctors Ebtihaj Al-A'ali, Minwir M. Al-Shammari and Hatem Masri from the University of Bahrain, Bahrain, which analyzes Arab women in the global business market and highlights relevant areas such as work and family balance, the glass ceiling, gender stereotypes, and empowerment strategies.
