Fatima Al Husseiny Answers Our Questions

What was the driving force or motivation for starting this book project?

Fatima Al Husseiny: The fact that the educational medium is rapidly changing has served as the stepping stone for the book Preparing Students for the Future Educational Paradigm focus. Globalized markets, emerging technology, and shifting job demands were essential elements influencing the transformation of education. My goal behind this book is to foster a skills-based approach to education to empower young scholars and educators from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region to adapt to the emerging skills-based economy. This entails comprehending and using the interdependent networks of people, organizations, and resources—also known as "learning ecosystems"—that promote education and individual growth.
What specific problems does the book address?
Fatima Al Husseiny: In this collaborative effort, my co-editor and I address several academic issues in the evolving educational medium and the rapid changes the world is facing. Some of these issues that were highlighted in the book were:
● Adapting New Technologies to Learning Needs
● Changing Career and Needs
● Learning Ecosystems
● Lifelong Learning
● Equity and Inclusion and Education

The book, Preparing Students for the Future Educational Paradigm provides an insightful outlook for transforming education to meet the needs of the future or education for the future.

How diverse were the experts behind the research that went into this book or which regions involved?

Fatima Al Husseiny: The book's writers come from various geographical areas, including the USA, South Asia, MENA, and EMEA. To truly recognize this diversity, one ought to think about: The geographical origins of the authors, who come from the USA, EMEA, MENA, and South Asia, as well as their diverse expertise in a range of research areas, each of which brings a distinctive blend of scholarly perspectives, reflect the diversity of experts that underpinned the research for this book. The responsibilities and contributions of the writers, who range from original researchers to analysts and reviewers, further enhance this diversity by offering distinct perspectives on how the research is interpreted and synthesized. Furthermore, the research procedures emphasize the degree of diversity since they determine the extent to which the study was inclusive in its engagement with other populations and viewpoints. Consequently, evaluating the variety of the experts necessitates a thorough examination of the book's production's methodological, functional, disciplinary, and geographic aspects.

How long have you been working in a related field to the topic coverage? Perhaps a decade (or more)?

Fatima Al Husseiny: Since January 2016, my academic career has been fueled by education, research, and student and teacher mentoring. This provided me with a rewarding experience where I shared insightful feedback on various subjects related to education and educational technology. I've been exposed to different learning methods throughout my six years of teaching journey. Also, I collaborated on research projects that allowed me to stay current on the latest trends. Since 2020, collaborating with authors, editors, and publishers from around the globe has enhanced my knowledge personally, professionally, and academically. As an editorial board member and reviewer, my roles have equipped me to improve my analytical and critical thinking skills to make editorial decisions.

Have you been recognized for academic excellence or other related achievements? If so, please detail the three most relevant awards you have received

Fatima Al Husseiny: In 2020, I participated in 2 research and editing hackathons with Project Everyone and Wikipedia. I received two achievement awards for my quality contributions and was recognized as one of the top 5 researchers and editors among over 1000 international scholars.

What's your advice for scholars with similar interests and qualifications?

Fatima Al Husseiny: Utilizing my robust network, proficient communication techniques, and cooperative mindset, I effectively collaborated with fellow scholars and instructors from the University of Sunderland to accomplish my ideal project. I advise folks to keep improving their abilities rather than depending only on degrees because meaningful opportunities are frequently more aligned with skill sets and track achievement records than with degrees. Academic writing, research, and reviewing enhance editorial judgment and intellectual understanding. Therefore, aspiring academic researchers and reviewers must treat them with due diligence. Never let formal qualifications prevent you from taking advantage of chances.
