This chapter is about the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It examines the framework and policy of national development through the years. The chapter analyzes the progress of the state considering the ongoing global volatility that creates risks. The chapter delves into a step-by-step process of the UAE national identity, which is now seen as a global brand. The chapter explores the strategies and the leadership skills defined and expressed through the traditions, history, and policies that govern the land while committing to the international community. Through this examination, the authors conclude that the UAE will continue to grow, yet they consider that it will play a most important and pivotal role in the international community in the years to come. The UAE is a cross-world of civilizations. National traditions and governance by example are world examples for all on what can be achieved as “nothing is impossible,” as Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Prime Minister and Ruler of the Emirate of Dubai, UAE, states.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is a genuinely vibrant and, most importantly, what I personally also consider as an author and researcher, a unique country. A country rich in history. It is truly a cultural crossroad of civilizations. The UAE is a country comprised of 7 emirates. It is a monarchy with an inclusive democracy. It is a Federal State with Federal and State laws that complement each other. It is a country where leadership, family, and religious beliefs matter. Its leadership is an excellent example to the world. It is wise. It is clear what the Leadership of the UAE wants. It is already engaged in making and marking the country as a country with an essential pivotal, diplomatic, military, and economic/business role to play. Globally and regionally. And one may wonder: Is it due to its geographic location or proximity to many world challenges? Is it due to its national wish? Or Identity? The UAE is a country that embraces and encompasses all. It is a country that one can pioneer. Can live at. Can dream of dreams and, more importantly, realize them. This is a clear, sound, and simple message of its wise leadership to the world. The UAE stands out as a unique place in a volatile, globalized world, surrounded by constant geostrategic challenges. Safe and secure. Where all things being equal, the UAE is a land of opportunity.
The term wise is a satisfactory definition of the UAE, which defines the country and, most importantly, the leadership of the UAE. In what I consider such an important chapter, which I have the gracious opportunity to contribute on and about, I chose the UAE. Its abilities and build-up lead us to conclude that it is a power for the future, a brand of national identity that is just as it should be. Success is evident and showcased in every field of policy orientation. While also regarding the importance of the nation, the national identity, among other matters. This chapter has a particular purpose: to write about and inform readers about a unique country. This chapter builds and delves into the uniqueness seen on all levels of its societal structure that make up the UAE to the world today.
This chapter assumes a strong and continued need to show the world that there is a great beacon of hope coming from an emerging power. More so, where new powers emerge, the UAE pioneers further. At a time of grave challenges, global and peripheral the UAE culture and historical identity are ever more substantial and ever-growing. And so does its modern society. The UAE stands out as a place of opportunity through the virtues of traditions while embracing endless world opportunities. Among others of and for dialogue and cooperation. Today, the UAE is a business, pleasure, and civilization hub. A corner of political and ideological exchanges. Of dialogue. Of tolerance and co-existence, a country that builds on global, regional, and national trade and business identity. Few emerging powers can play a pivotal role in what I define as the dialogue of civilizations.
While competition is evident, so is power. And the UAE and its wise leadership hold both. Through the years of development since its unification, a historical cornerstone that started on the 2nd of December 1971, the UAE has been a leader in its region. With exemplary strong leadership that only a few others can be compared with, led by its first leader Sheikh Zayed (May God Rest his Soul), the UAE has built on years of global engagement through various international community challenges. And still, to this day, the UAE continues to reach out through a multi-disciplinary and multi-leveled dialogue of civilizations to the world. It assures the world community of its wish to be engaged while working in a sustainable, peaceful environment.
The UAE is a country that embeds traditional and national values with international values and traditions in a world community with great expectations. Expectations that surpass just national will and wishes, the international community is ever engaged in utilizing the strongest and the greatest of states in making their national identity and role a global role. And so is the UAE’s expectation in the worldwide community. Thus, it is no coincidence that the UAE passport, according to Arton Capital's Passport Index, ranks the UAE passport in the 1st position globally as of December 2022 in the levels of global mobility and freedom from travel restrictions (Arton, 2022).
