Abstract

In the last decade, the emerging needs for social responsibility on environmental concern has been considerably transmitted into the initiative of firm alliance. This chapter attempts to examine the essential points of university-, industry-, and community-based strategic partnership for further collaboration alliance. This chapter focuses on the key role of strategic partnership with cooperating into the concern in driving the procedural stage on sustainable development. The findings reveal that outstanding value of strategic partnership would give insights into empowering sustainable-based institutional arrangements assigned with the wide attempts to contribute the prudent public policy formulation to implement the good service to solve environmental and related issues. The value is that strategic partnership trend incorporated in this context would be the point of view for sustainable development agenda rooted into the way of living processes paradigm together with demonstrating the wide range of sustainable governance.

Introduction

In the last decade, the serious concern on environmental sustainability has been widely boarded due to the massive global transformation of firms’ condition and also workplace environment (Aminudin et al., 2018a; Anggraeni et al., 2018a; Kapp, 2018; Rajagopalan, 2015). This is needed of the strategically responsible awareness on the way to solve the emerging issues on environmental sector (Aminin et al., 2018; Ansell & Gash, 2017; Fauzi et al., 2018). The most influential basis on sustainable development distribution could be viewed in detail into the new platform for daily human interaction and communication through digital setting (Abadi et al., 2019; Linkov et al., 2018). With this digitalization media, this provides an easy way to deliver the information through finger touched pathway, such as smartphone (Anshari et al., 2017; Razzaq et al., 2018). Along with such progress to give an insightful value in the attempts on transmitting the potentials of sustainability value with responsibility, the key point to achieve this attainment should be pointed out sustaining both corporate values assigned into the academic environment (Anggraeni et al., 2018b; Datta, Gopalakrishna-Remani & Bozan, 2015). This is an urgent need to respond in both technical and theoretical foundation plan to achieve the solving attainment, since some considerable issues shown into the number of challenges such as environmental concern, lack of moral enhancement in the organization sphere, and also other problematic issues. In this view, this should be considered into giving the cooperation on the way to expand sustainable-based arrangement in the strategic partnership context. The inextricable involvement should do with considering the emerging issues to give the solution appropriately in the context of academic enhancement.

This becomes a comprehensive essence with a significant point to go through dealing with the attempts as the initiative of strategic partnership to give an insightful value in disseminating the responsibility of environmental engagement. The initiative with such identification by scholarly enhancement refers to assist the sustainable commitment (Abadi et al., 2018a; Baker & Mehmood, 2015; Puspitasari et al., 2020). Distributed along with such approaches, the wide exploration in supplementing the sustainability engagement could be potentially supplemented in an effort to help the strategic partnership role on running the governance initiative (Brandi, 2017). Among the numbers are cooperating with some certain programs, such as community-firm engagement for environmental pollution plan (Shi & Xu, 2018), service learning enhancement initiative (Huda et al., 2018a; Molderez & Fonseca, 2018), academia-industry work plan project for sustainability empowerment (Adams et al., 2016; Evans et al., 2015), and also academia-community service engagement program (Erzurumlu, & Erzurumlu, 2015). All such initiatives may become good supplement in enabling the positive feedback to considerably transmit on the way of applying for the policy made by the stakeholder in transferring the universal values of corporate citizenship.
