Abstract

Computer equipment, software, and online service have succeeded in introducing improvements and enhancements to the classrooms and teaching methods in recent years. Yet, using artificial intelligence (AI), the real disruption of education has to come. Artificial intelligence has proven its position as a game-changing force in various fields, in the past causing unprecedented transformations. Using AI, expert systems can be programmed to communicate with the environment through technologies such as visual perception, speech recognition, and intellectual behavior, which we can find to be inherently human. This chapter aims to discuss the role of artificial intelligence in the education sector including its market size, the effect of AI in education, case studies of current AI presence in education (smart content, smart tutoring systems, virtual facilitators, and learning environments, etc.) to improve learning and life outcomes for all. Finally, chapter concludes with the issues and problems.

1.0 Introduction

Once you first hear of −Artificial Intelligence (AI), several movie images pop up in your mind like Star Wars and Robot where the robots in the movie gained the ability to think, feel and behave on their own like human beings. The definition of AI can be difficult to understand, especially when attempting I wonder how knowledge can be applied as well as to many other sectors of society. The Getting Smart AskAboutAI work started in December 2015 and over these two years, they have found more than 100 AI-to-life applications in areas such as recreation, transportation, education, health care, and gaming, to name just a few. The AI campaign focused on three priorities-jobs, ethics, and education. How does AI help various industries, what are some of the applications, what are the benefits and risks associated with it, and what are the possibilities for AI in education, of greater personal interest?

AI is a technology which aims to make computers like reasoning do human. That will accelerate the digital industrial transformation. Whether it's human beings, animals, plants, computers, tools, rocks, stones, lakes, buildings, or whatever one may think of, putting them together and making “good decisions” would make the planet an autonomous place. To make the world and its physical properties autonomous.

Machine Learning (ML) (R. S. Michalski, 2013)Emulating human thinking and analyzing data (DA)(H. Witten, 2016) module in the system. ML would create techniques for facilitating learning in various network components/devices to make them automatic and autonomous, while DA would evaluate/analyze all the data generated over time to determine past trends and be more efficient/effective in the future. This trend has increased, and efforts are now being made to incorporate ML and DA into the sensors of smart systems (L. Monostori, 2016) and embedded systems (E. A. Lee, 2016). The technology behind AI is truly fascinating, and what it can turn into forces us to reconsider the significance and intent of everything that we know about life and work. The pace at which ML and DA drive AI needs a strong need to tackle trends, challenges, and threats which will increase gradually. The Internet of Things (IoT) is one of the biggest ideas behind this move (Q. F. Hassan, 2017), This anticipates a world full of built-in intelligent devices, also known as “smart objects”(G. Fortino, 2014), Web links or other communication platforms, such as Bluetooth, Infrarot, etc. Such relationships will be mental, physical-human, and physical. The Internet of All (L. T. Yang, 2017) is also a similar idea to assume that any living, non-living, or virtual entity is linked employing some communication means. What we get when you introduce these ideas into the physical world is a Cyber Real System (CPS) (R. Baheti, 2011).
