Quality Education is a key enabler for attainment of “education for all” sustainable development goal, chalked out by United Nation. However, ensuring quality education is a challenging task and higher education institutions need to have effective strategic planning and agile operational processes to provide a conducive learning environment. Students, employers, governments, academic institutions, educational institutions, faculty, and other regulatory bodies are key stakeholders striving for quality education. As a result, there are many quality assurance tools in place in higher education such as international rankings, accreditations, however, instead of fostering sustainable quality practices these quality tools sometime result in adoption of adhoc practices by higher education institutions to reach the milestones set by these regulatory standards.
The implementation of quality assurance practices has several benefits for improving higher education: they guarantee academic standards, encourage student success, improve teaching and learning, guarantee compliance and accountability, facilitate institutional assessment, support ongoing improvement, guarantee transparency and accountability, and encourage creativity and adaptability. Institutions may improve results for students and stakeholders, bolster their educational programs, and increase organizational performance by putting strong quality assurance systems into place.
