Vierne Placide

Vierne PlacideVierne Placide , Ph.D., MPH, CPHQ, is an Assistant Professor in the Health Department at SUNY Cortland. Prior to academia, she oversaw the Quality Improvement Department at a not-for-profit Behavioral Health agency with programs in substance use, mental health and HIV in Tampa, Florida. Dr. Placide earned her Ph.D. in Public Affairs with a concentration in Health Services Management and Research at the University of Central Florida, and her master’s and bachelor’s degrees from the University of South Florida. She primarily teaches in the Community Health and Healthcare Management programs, and her research interests include diversity and inclusion in healthcare, health disparities, integrated behavioral health, opioid use disorder, HIV/AIDS, and healthcare quality.
