Shivani Mehta

Shivani Mehta is an Assistant Professor at Amity School of Economics, Amity University, Noida. She pursued her bachelors in economics (honours) from Delhi University and went ahead to complete her MA in Economics from Banasthali University, Rajasthan, where she was a gold medallist. She also pursued her M.Sc., Development Economics from School of Oriental & African Studies, University of London, where her dissertation was titled “Drivers of FDI in the Indian Economy - A study of Indian Automobile Sector”. She recently completed her PhD from Amity University, Noida with her Thesis on “Women Empowerment through Entrepreneurship: Step towards Sustainable Development Goals (Case of Delhi)”. Dr. Shivani has been involved in various presentations and seminars and has had 17 papers, 5 book chapters, and 2 books published. Her research fields include development economics, gender economics, and sustainable development. At amity university, she is involved in teaching various courses like environmental economics, comparative economic development, economic growth models, economic system and society, agricultural economics, and international economics. Dr. Shivani Mehta has also been involved in a funded project under NASF-ICAR titled 'Pork Marketing Chains in North East India for Sustainable Livelihood of Tribal Women (Assam, Meghalaya and Nagaland)' as CO-PI which received a total funding of INR 1.21 cr.
