Sajid Nisar

Sajid NisarSajid Nisar received his B.Eng degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Engineering and Technology Taxila, Pakistan (2008), and M.Eng degree in Mechanical Engineering & Science from Kyoto University, Japan (2016). He has 06 years of research experience including academia and industry. Since 2011, he remained Team Lead and was Senior Mechanical Engineer at National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) for the project Telesurgical Training Robot and Simulator at Smart Machines and Robotics Technology (SMART) Lab till he joined Kyoto University in 2013. His research interests include Surgical and Rescue Robotics, Robot Mechanism Design and Haptics. He received ‘shield of best performance’ from UET Taxila in 2008 and won ‘silver medal’ for the young researcher award at Intel’ Surgical Conference - 2012, Islamabad. He was presented with ‘high achiever's award’ by National University of Sciences and Technology, Pakistan, in 2012. Other than this, received Govt. of Japan’s MEXT Scholarship Award twice, Kubota Foundation Research Scholarship and Kyoto University’s GSS Fellowship award for doctoral research.
