Reijo Savolainen

Reijo Savolainen is Professor at the Department of Information Studies, University of Tampere, Finland. He is interested in the issues of information needs, seeking and use, especially the role of the Internet in information seeking and communication. His current study focuses on the ways in which citizens use the Web in everyday life information seeking. He has about 70 publications in the field of information and library studies. From 1996-2001, he acted as scientific leader of the interdisciplinary project on Information Society in Finland - Present State and Future Prospects, funded by the Academy of Finland.
