Matthew A. Cooney

Matthew A. Cooney currently serves as assistant professor of education in the higher education administration doctoral program at Governors State University. Prior to joining Governors State University, he worked in student affairs research and assessment and academic support programs at multiple universities across the United States. Dr. Cooney’s research foci include college and university presidents, student success initiatives, and contemplative practices in higher education. Dr. Cooney holds a B.A in Spanish from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas; a M.Ed. in Higher Education from Loyola University, Chicago; and a PhD in Higher Education Administration from Bowling Green State University.
