Joseph K. Rugutt

Joseph Kipronoh Rugutt is currently an Associate Professor and Chairman of the Department of Chemistry at Missouri State University-West Plains (MSU-WP), USA. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Moi University (Kenya) in 1989 and a PhD in Organic/Analytical Chemistry from Louisiana State University (LSU) in 1996. From 1996 to 1999, he was a postdoctoral fellow at LSU with Professor Isiah Warner, one of the world’s leading scientists. Dr. Rugutt has received numerous honors, awards, and grants including the Massachusetts Commonwealth Information Technology Initiative Grant, the Rockefeller Fellowship, the Advanced Chemical Development Award, National Science Foundation (NSF) grants, the 2010 Innovation in Teaching and Learning Faculty Award at Columbus State University (Georgia), and the 2013 MSU-WP’s Dean's Merit Faculty Award for excellence in professional development activities. He has published several papers in peer-reviewed journals and has been participating in NSF’s virtual and on-site proposal review panel sessions.
