Cheron H. Davis

Cheron H. Davis is an associate professor of reading education at Florida A&M University’s College of Education. Davis’s research interests include teacher preparation at historically black colleges and universities, multicultural reading pedagogy, the promotion of equity and justice through literacy, and early literacy intervention techniques. She is the co-editor of the volume The Beauty and the Burden of Being a Black Professor (Emerald Publishing). She is the co-author of “Field-Based Learning for Minority Educators: Developing Situationally Relevant Self-Awareness Practices in the Field Experience” in IGI Global Publishing’s Research Anthology on Developing Critical Thinking Skills in Students (2021) and “Reading Outside of the Box: HBCU Preservice Teachers, Culturally Relevant Pedagogy and Letterbox Lessons” in The Florida Journal of Educational Research (2021).
