Andrés Carvajal-Contreras

Andrés Carvajal-Contreras is an economic theorist, with emphasis in general equilibrium, financial economics and mathematical economics. Starting in January 2020, he will be Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Mathematical Economics. He was Co-Chair of the 2018 North American Summer Meeting of the Econometric Society, Co-Editor of the Canadian Journal of Economics and Associate Editor of the Journal of Mathematical Economics. Professor Carvajal investigates the ways in which imperfections in markets affect the performance of economic systems and, ultimately, the well-being of the members of a society. He has also done research on the development of empirical tests of models of rational behavior, on the informational and behavioral foundations of equilibrium theory, and on environmental economics.
