Alexander Sokolov

Dr. Alexander Sokolov is tenured professor at the National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE) and Deputy Director of the HSE Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge. He is deputy editor-in-chief of HSE based journal “Foresight and STI Governance” and regional editor of the international journal “Foresight”. He is a member of working groups at OECD and other international organisations, a member of the Scientific Board and panelist at a number of international scientific conferences. Alexander managed dozens of large-scale Foresight projects in Russia including National Critical Technologies (2006, 2011, 2015), National S&T Foresight studies (2008, 2011, 2016), Foresight of IT and Mass-Media Sector in Russia. Dr. Sokolov authored, co-authored and edited over 150 publications in peer-reviewed journals, textbooks and monographs. He holds PhD in Mathematical Statistics.
