Dr. Shalin Hai-Jew Presents at SIDLIT 2014

IGI Global editor Dr. Shalin Hai-Jew, an instructional designer at Kansas State University (K-State), focuses on the research areas of data visualization, social media platform data, and the information that can be gleaned from analyzing this data. She will be presenting at the Colleague 2 Colleague Summer Institute on Distance Learning and Instructional Technology (SIDLIT) conference from July 31- August 1 at Johnson County Community College in Overland Park, KS. SIDLIT is a professional development conference which includes presentations, topic-oriented special interest discussion groups, hands-on workshops, and demonstrations.

Dr. Hai-Jew will be delivering the following presentations at SIDLIT:

Dr. Hai-Jew's IGI Global title Remote Workforce Training: Effective Technologies and Strategies will be featured for display at the conference, and a free copy of the publication will be awarded to an attendee.

In early August, she will be presenting at Oklahoma State University’s inaugural Big 12 Teaching and Learning Conference. Her topics here include the extraction of social network data, an e-Delphi study on the feasibility of MOOCs (massive open online courses), and methods for building digital learning objects.

Dr. Hai-Jew’s latest title, Enhancing Qualitative and Mixed Methods Research with Technology, which will release in September, explores the integration of new digital tools into the research process. Including current information on data visualization, research design, information capture, as well as social media analysis, this publication serves as an ideal reference source for academicians, scientists, information specialists, business managers, and upper-level students involved in interdisciplinary research. Featured in the Advances in Knowledge Acquisition, Transfer, and Management (AKATM) Book Series, this collection brings together research on emerging technologies and their effect on information systems as well as the knowledge society. AKATM will provide researchers, students, practitioners, and industry leaders with research highlights surrounding the knowledge management discipline, including technology support issues and knowledge representation.
