Research and Development (R&D): Staying Ahead of the Curve

For that purpose, it recently added the forthcoming 2019 journal, International Journal of R&D Innovation Strategy (IJRDIS), to its already rich and diverse collection. IGI Global recently spoke with one of the Editors-in-Chief, Dr. Donghun Yoon, who is a Senior Researcher and Team Leader in the Seoul Center of the Korea Basic Science Institute, Republic of Korea. He shared his insights about the vision he has for his new journal and the future of research and development (R&D).

What are your areas of expertise?

My research areas of interest include management information system, logistics, supply chain management, network system, RFID, basic science, research equipment, national large research facilities, science and technology policy, information and communications technologies, R&D strategy, IC-Card and technology diffusion theory. The major field of study is technology diffusion model theory and science and technology policy.

What lead to your decision of becoming the Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of R&D Innovation Strategy?

I am confident that the R&D innovation strategy research will contribute greatly to the R&D innovation and the science and technology policy around the world. I decided to become the Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of R&D Innovation Strategy for the research activation of R&D innovation strategy. I hope that the related academic research and case studies will be discussed and presented for R&D strategy, strategy mechanism, and science and technology policy in this journal, because it was specifically designed for that purpose.

What sort of research will the journal cover? Are there any topics in particular?

The International Journal of R&D Innovation Strategy (IJRDIS) is a leading international journal on research for R&D innovation strategy, science and technology policy, and technology management. This journal is focused on R&D strategy issues for the advancement, the policy, and the efficiency improvement in science and technology. Covering the full range of topics in R&D strategy design, R&D innovation, strategy mechanism, science and technology policy, interdisciplinary research, and R&D education issues.
