Library and Publisher Collaborations

IGI Global is an active member of the library community. One of the key things we do is to hold regular Library Advisory Board groups, focus groups, product usability testing, and informal meetings with libraries around the world to both test current and new business models and better understanding the challenges faced by the community. IGI Global also collaborates closely with consortia worldwide, attending meetings and providing professional development activities.

We have continually been a Sponsor of the Charleston Conference since 2008 and regularly participate in a number of other industry conferences. Being active in industry bodies and industry initiatives, IGI Global is COUNTER compliant and is a partner for testing major technology initiatives with partners such as GOBI Library Solutions from EBSCO and ProQuest’s OASIS. Additionally, our e-Book and e-Journal Collections Team speak at library conferences internationally.

    IGI Global publishes Library Information Science books, journals, and streaming videos to help better understand the changing challenges that librarians face. Online Training

IGI Global is able to offer complimentary online training to librarians, faculty, and students. These sessions present information about IGI Global research, show examples to increase understanding of our platform functionality, and explain new and updated platform features. The online trainings are designed to demonstrate the IGI Global XML-based platform and website as if you were side by side with our training team. These easy to navigate and effective trainings are designed to help you achieve the fullest understanding of the InfoSci platform and get the most out of your IGI Global content. IGI Global LibGuides are intended to help libraries utilize IGI Global’s innovative, peer-reviewed e-books, e-journals, and videos. Librarians are able to copy our guides into their own LibGuides account or link to them from their library webpage. Not only does this save librarians time, but also makes our content more accessible to students and researchers which will increase usage. IGI Global Webinar Series

IGI Global’s Webinar Series’ mission is to promote new techniques and technologies applicable to research and instruction and connect researchers to an international network of field experts.

Professional Development

IGI Global invites industry leaders to host a live recorded presentation on the pressing issues and new discoveries in the publishing, library, and research fields. In this series of online seminars, well-known faculty and researchers share their knowledge and experiences on a variety of timely topics and discipline-specific issues.

Library Administration Accounts

IGI Global offers librarians the ability to download their own MARC records, COUNTER reports, holdings, and more through a Library Administration Accounts. If you would like for your library to have access to a Library Administrative Account, please contact the IGI Global e-Collections Team at eresources@igi-global.com.

Discoverability

IGI Global proudly works with discoverability services and companies to ensure readers and libraries can locate and access IGI Global as quickly and timely as possible. We provide necessary information to all discoverability services as well as support to customers. This shows our commitment to emerging technology and the content and product we proudly deliver by ensuring the content is available and easily accessible to its users.

MARC Records and Persistent URLs

IGI Global offers MARC records for both its print and electronic content free of charge. We also provide free persistent URLs for our complete title list, which can be used in learning management systems, library reserves, etc.

The IGI Global e-Collections Team is available to provide you with MARC records and persistent URLs. Additionally, MARC records can be accessed with a Library Administration Account. The team is happy to provide you with MARC record updates as requested, as well as search for articles, chapters, books, or journals that would be useful to a course at your institution, or create a Library Administration Account, upon request. Remote Access

IGI offers multiple remote access options to our InfoSci Platform including IP authentication, Proxy IPs, and Open Athens authentication. These remote options can be added to your account via the “Institution Settings” in your Library Administration Account.
