Editor/Author Biographies
Kerem Rizvanoglu is currently working as an associate professor in Galatasaray University, Faculty of Communication. His research interests include interactive media design, cross-cultural, universal and mobile usability and alternative use of media in the context of community communication. He is teaching user experience and usability at undergraduate and graduate levels in several universities in Turkey. He is still the head of the Department of Informatics at Galatasaray University in Istanbul.
As a Linux user and open source advocate since 1993, Dr. Görkem Çetin worked as a director and consultant for Gelecek AS - a software and services company, Turkish National Institute of Electronics and Cryptology, Vestel R&D Group (Europe’s biggest TV, set-top-box and IPTV manufacturer) and Pepsi Turkey. Taking part in 2 European FP6 projects, 1 EUREKA project and 2 national TEYDEB projects (with a total of 27M Euro budget), he published more than 15 papers, written 5 books and contributed to 3 book chapters related to IPTV, trusted computing, open source systems, Linux and human computer interaction. He's currently holding product manager position in Turkcell for products including Android & iOS applications, Mobile device management (MDM), API driven services, speech technologies (TTS, ASR), push notifications, usability and user experience. He has expertise with open source software, smartphone technologies, mobile development, trusted computing, embedded linux, HCI, speech recognition and unmanned aircraft vehicles.
