Editor/Author Biographies
Shawkat Ali is currently with School of Information and Communication Technology, CQUniversity, Australia. He received his PhD in Information Technology from Clayton School of Information Technology, Monash University. His research interests include computational intelligence, data mining, smart grid, cloud computing, and biomedical engineering. In particular, he is currently leading in a research group on computational intelligence. He has published more than 85 research papers in international journals and conferences, most of them are IEEE/ELSEVIER journals/conferences, such as IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems, Future Generation Computer Systems, ELSEVIER, WSEAS Transactions on Information Science and Applications, Journal of Medical Systems, Springer, and Renewable Energy, ELSEVIER. He has also published several book chapters and books. His Data Mining book is being used as text in more than two dozen universities around the globe. Dr. Ali has chaired many conferences including DMAI, NSS, ICDKE, and ISDA. He has been a program committee member for about 40 international conferences such as IEEE TrustCom, IEEE ICCIT, IEEE/ACIS, IEEE ICARCV, and IEEE AINA. Currently he is the Editor-in-Chief for International Journal of Emerging Technologies in Sciences and Engineering (IJETSE), Canada. He is an IEEE Senior Member. Dr. Ali has received a couple of awards including the Post Graduation Publication Award, Monash University, 2004, the Excellence in Supervision Award, CQUniversity, 2007 and the Top 10 Course Designers, CQUniversity, 2010.
Noureddine Abbadeni is currently Associate Professor of Computer Science and vice-chair of the Software Engineering department at the College of Computer and Information Sciences at King Saud University. He received the B.Eng. degree in Computer Science (Software Engineering) from USTHB-Algiers-Algeria, the M.Sc. degree in Computer Science and the M.Sc degree in Computational Linguistics, both from University of Grenoble-France, the DESS degree in Management from HEC Montreal-Canada, and the PhD degree in Computer Science from University of Sherbrooke-Canada. Dr. Abbadeni has an experience of more than 14 years in both academia and IT industry in Canada, USA, UAE, and KSA. Dr. Abbadeni conducted research projects for several years and has several papers published in international refereed conferences and journals such as IEEE Trans. on IP, Elsevier’s JVCIR, IEEE ICME, IEEE ICIP, etc. His research fields include multimedia computing, information retrieval, data mining, and pattern recognition & image processing.
Mohamed Batouche is currently full Professor of Computer Science at University of Constantine, Algeria. He was full Professor in the College of Computer and Information Sciences at King Saud University, Saudi Arabia between 2007 and 2011. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from University of Nancy - INPL, France. He published over 150 refereed journal and conference papers in the areas of complex systems, nature inspired computing, bioinformatics, image processing, machine learning, and telecommunication.
