Description & Coverage
Description:

Distributed systems intertwine with our everyday lives. The benefits and current shortcomings of the underpinning technologies are experienced by a wide range of people and their smart devices. With the rise of large-scale IoT and similar distributed systems, cloud bursting technologies, and partial outsourcing solutions, private entities are encouraged to increase their efficiency and offer unparalleled availability and reliability to their users.

Applying Integration Techniques and Methods in Distributed Systems and Technologies is a critical scholarly publication that defines the current state of distributed systems, determines further goals, and presents architectures and service frameworks to achieve highly integrated distributed systems and presents solutions to integration and efficient management challenges faced by current and future distributed systems. Highlighting topics such as multimedia, programming languages, and smart environments, this book is ideal for system administrators, integrators, designers, developers, researchers, and academicians.

Between 2006-2016, he worked as a research fellow at the Laboratory of Parallel and Distributed Systems (LPDS) of MTA SZTAKI. He also works for the computer science doctoral school of the University of Miskolc, Hungary. In, 2013, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Innsbruck, Austria. He was involved in several successful Grid and SOA research projects (e.g., ePerSpace, EDGeS, S-Cube) funded by the EU. In 2015 and early 2016, he was steering committee member and work package leader in the ENTICE project (focusing on cloud computing) which was financed by the EU’s Horizon2020 framework programme. He was member/chair of the program committees of over 40 European conferences/workshops. He was guest editor for the Journal of Grid Computing for a special issue on Cloud federations and he also edited the book titled "Developing Interoperable and Federated Cloud Architecture". He has published over 70 scientific papers (incl. 18 journal articles and 4 edited volumes) about cloud and grid computing, particularly from the fields of simulating distributed systems and virtual appliance delivery in IaaS clouds.
