Introduction

Exploring unfamiliar locations and trying delicious dishes made with native ingredients. This is the essence of gastronomic tourism. However, the catch is that we aim to ensure that as we indulge in these tasty treats, we are also prioritizing the well-being of the environment and those responsible for creating them. In this book, we will explore the various creative methods individuals are using to promote food sustainability and protect the environment and the people involved in producing it. We will encounter chefs, farmers, and other experts in food who are taking impressive steps to guarantee that our dining experiences are environmentally friendly. The act of discovering different foods and drinks in various cultures and locations, known as gastronomic tourism, has become a significant element in shaping travel experiences worldwide. Nevertheless, as we become more aware of the impacts on the environment and society, it is increasingly important to ensure that these activities are both pleasurable and long-lasting.
